Thomas R. Walter, A.I.A. received a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Florida in 1973, where he was a classmate of Mr. Parker. He also undertook his registration exams the first year after graduation, which he passed in full. (Only 10% typically pass all parts on the first attempt.) He is a registered architect in Florida.

Upon graduation Mr. Walter interned with the noted architect Frank Folsom Smith and remained with the firm 5 years. In 1978 he formed Skinner, Walter & Britt, Inc., of which he was president and partner. Thirteen years later the firm evolved to Thomas R. Walter & Associates, P.A.

In 1996 he merged his firm with Brent Parker, forming Parker Walter Group, Inc.

Mr. Walter is a member and past President of Gulf Coast Chapter of the American Institute of Architects and is the current president of the Gulf Coast Builders Exchange. He has served on the Florida AIA Board of Directors and has membership in the Southern Building Congress International, Inc. He has been an active participant on the National Teleconference on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and assists clients with their ADA evaluations.
